- I broke my 4th toe on my right foot yesterday. After 40+ years without one break, I experienced my first fracture at the hands of a gallon-sized paint can. Oh, man, that hurt. The doc said to tape it to the middle toe and it will be ok in 6ish weeks. So, that’s lovely.
- Tonight, Stormy Daniels will do an epic interview on 60 Minutes that will probably bring down the internet. I can’t wait to see what dirt she has on Trump. My guess is that this is all about nothing unless someone can connect money paid for her silence to violations of campaign finance laws. Should be a great show and a pathetic snapshot of where we are as a country right now.
- No, I don’t think Capitalism is great and no, I don’t think Socialism is great. That’s the point – humans still haven’t figured out the perfect structure of communal prosperity and happiness. Ego and intelligence backfire in every society. Adaption is the only survival technique that keeps civilizations alive… America is slowly drifting past its window of opportunity.
- I need a vacation
- The Market
As anticipated, the market has been choppy and ended last week very heavily in favor of the bears. Lots of selling; few buyers. We haven’t seen this kind of action in a very long time – possibly not at all in 2017. The overall equities market looks like crap with volume selling increasing as the week wrapped up. My hope is that we’ll take a pause here now that we’re firmly in oversold territory. A quick glance at SPY illustrates the obvious… an SMA200 battle is about to be underway. IF we hold this range after lunch on Monday, I might dip my toe (the broken one) into some long positions. - I moved most of my 401k to safety last Wednesday. That was clearly the right move, but I don’t expect to be overly conservative much longer. I need that account to grow on all pullback opportunities – we’ll see if it happens this week.
- I like ISRG – I want to see this stock get some buyers and then I’ll jump in.
- FB is interesting long uder $150
- I really want it to rain this week – nothing motivates me more than storms.
