  1. My Respect for LeBron has grown over the years.  Anyone who rattles the Fox News talking head, Laura Ingraham, is a friend of mine.
  2. The gun debate might have finally taken a turn after the Parkland, Florida shooting.  The kids are standing up and speaking out.  It feels like we’re getting tired of it all.  AK-15 laws? Background checks?  Twitter is abuz.

  3. Texas baseball looks like they’ve carried over their issues from last year – great pitching, but not a lot of hitting.  Chemistry seems better, however.  I expect we’ll see a much improved season.
  4. Texas football recruiting is off to a slow start, but life is good – I’m still celebrating the 2018 class.
  5. The equity market seems entirely too flimsy.  I haven’t felt this way in a while, but with QE ending and inflation likely to tick up, I don’t foresee a fun year to be in equities.
  6. Olympics, meh.  I’m super impressed by the athletes, but I don’t feel the connection.  Maybe I’m falling into the me-only American mindset that could damage our country if we don’t learn to  look beyond our noses.
